Program Development

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Institute for Human Development (UMKC IHD) works with a wide range of community and state partners to create and facilitate effective social change. We build the capacity of individuals, community and state organizations, schools, universities, and other community members to create more diverse, inclusive, and competent communities.

Through our program development initiatives, the UCEDD works to improve the capacity of individuals, organizations, and the community:

  • To be more informed and effective advocates,
  • To provide quality effective supports and services, and
  • To be effective leaders in creating community, organizational, and systems change.

UMKC IHD Program Development services and initiatives incorporate a logic model approach that emphasizes needs assessment, development and coordination of necessary resources/partnerships, implementation of evidenced-based interventions designed to address identified needs, and evaluation of short, medium, and long term outcomes.
