Health and Wellness Promotion

Health & Wellness Promotion projects focus on enhancing the quality of life for at-risk populations and a general promotion of healthy lifestyles by coordinating efforts in research, service demonstration, training, and evaluation of health and wellness activities.

There is a need to establish state-wide coordinated efforts in research, service demonstration, training, and evaluation of health and wellness promotion activities that address the needs of the State. Programs in this priority area relate to enhancing the quality of life in at-risk populations. Further, an integral part of health and wellness is a more general promotion of healthy lifestyles. Examples of issues include prenatal and well baby care and teenage pregnancy prevention.
