The Missouri Disability and Health Collaborative (MODHC) and Missouri Family to Family (MOF2F) teams brought their skills and knowledge together to offer a Charting the LifeCourse for Health (CtLC) event on March 22. The presentation drew around 40 guests, most with disabilities, to IHD to learn about creating personal health visions and plans. Crystal Bell and Jane St. John presented CtLC materials. Christy Miller organized the event.

The event also included universally designed hands-on cooking lessons with The Color-Coded Chef, Terri Jordan. Participants assembled eight recipes using step-by-step directions and checklists. They also enjoyed sampling the food.

Two more MODHC Charting the LifeCourse for Health events will be held this spring, one each in Joplin and Jefferson City. The MODHC is a project of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and UMKC IHD to make public health fitness and nutrition strategies fully accessible for people with intellectual disabilities.
