Centers

The University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Institute for Human Development is made up of three centers or focus areas.

The University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities

As one of 67 UCEDDs across the country, UMKC-IHD is federally designated to focus on individuals with disabilities across their lifespan and their families through research, training, program development and information dissemination.

LifeCourse Nexus

Charting the LifeCourse Nexus focuses on systems change to align community resources to promote “good lives” for every person.  The framework and principles promote person-centered thinking and practices and are used by people with and without disabilities. 

Early Childhood Innovation Center

The Early Childhood Innovation Center supports children birth through eight years of age through several major initiatives.
